Subject: Regarding eligiblity for UGC NET

Question: I am 27 years BAMS Doctor and then done my M Sc Dietitics and food service management from IGNOU .Now i want to appear for UCC NET can pls help me, if I'm eligible for it? If yes pls help me how to prepare for it n related books n study material
 
Answer: University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test is an examination conducted for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Lectureship.

Eligibility criteria of UGC-NET:

  • The candidate must have scored atleast 55% marks in the master’s degree examination or any other equivalent examination from any university recognized by UGC.
  • The maximum allowed age of the candidate for JRF is 28 years and there is no age bar to Eligibility for Lectureship.

Examination scheme of UGC-NET:
The entire examination is divided into 3 sections

  • Section 1 consist of reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness questions.
  • Section 2 consist of 50 objective type questions based on the subject selected by the candidate.
  • Section 3 consist of subjective questions based on the subject selected by the candidate.

Syllabus of Test: Syllabi for all NET subjects can be downloaded from the UGC Website: www.ugc.ac.in and are also available in the libraries of all Indian universities.

The preparation can be started according to the subjects chosen for which the study material is available in the market.
