Answer: IGNOU provides the Lateral Entry scheme for addmission in 3rd semester in MCA.Their eligibility conditions are:

A candidate, who has qualified a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level and possesses any of the following qualifications, is eligible to apply for qualifying examination to be conducted by IGNOU, for direct admission to third semester of IGNOU.

Successful completion of PGDCA or its equivalent course of not less than one year duration from a recognised University

Successful completion of ‘A’ level examination of DoE/MIT after graduation. The completion of ‘A’ level includes successful completion of project work also.

Successful completion of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Application (BCA) or a graduate with Computer Science as a major subject in each of the three years of a degree programme. ( A ‘major subject’ is the subject which will not be a subsidiary or qualifying subject. Further, Computer Science will be treated as a ‘Major’ subject, when a student pursues say B.Sc with three subjects viz. Computer Science, Maths and Physics with almost equal weightage for each, with possibly some other qualifying subjects like English or MIL).
