| Answer: The demand and popularity of DJs is huge on the international circuit. Foreign DJs such as Paul Van Dyk, DJ Tiesto, Paul Oakenfield and DJ Sasha are household names and huge celebrities in their respective countries. In our country, too, DJing has taken a giant leap and the popularity of certain DJs is soaring new heights. In India, DJing is still in a very primitive stage but it is growing at a very rapid pace. It will remain for a very long time, mainly because music is a very important part of our culture and has been present in our lives for centuries. Although DJing is just like any other western influence in our life, it is not likely to fade away since it complements our culture and its celebration.
Today, there are more than three lakh DJs in India. This scenario will continue to grow for another 20 years, since DJs are slowly becoming a necessity in events such as weddings, birthday parties, college festivals, not to mention nightclubs and discos. The future looks extremely optimistic as far as DJing is concerned.
