Subject: Career after engineering with not so good percentages in engg.?
Date: 27-Jan-2010

Question: Sir, i am a prefinal year student of enginering, electronics and communication branch (lnct college bhopal). I have messed up all my engg. Uptil now with an aggregate of mere 60%, my twelfth marks are also 60%, but my 10th percentage is 80.
Now with campus time coming i am not eligible for most of the companies, but i still have one and half years of engg left to correct my mistakes.
basically i am thinking of doing mba . also i would like to pursue some non conventional carrers i.e i am ready to take a risk.

so sir i would love to read any suggestion that could help me because these days i am very depressed!!!

Answer: Hi Devansh,
If you keep on regretting about the past, then you won't be able to move ahead. If you don't get campus placement, don't get depressed. You still have one and half to work hard and improve your percentage. MBA is fine but your immediate target and concern should be engineering. Work hard, focus on your goals and I am sure you get definitely get through it with a good percentage.Think of doing MBA after get some work experience. It would help you to understand the working of the industry in a better way. Being depressed wont lead you to anywhere. So think positive and try to be that old student which you were in your class 10th.

All the best
