| Question: I Have a 26 years old married sister and she had completed her D.M.L.T (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician) with 5 years work ex. and she has completed her B.Sc Zoology(correspondence) from IGNOU and now she is looking for correspondence post graduation course in NCR region and she is so much confused as she don't want to do a job in laboratory field. She want to have a P.G degree and a healthy job so that her family balance should not disturb
Someone has advised her to go for a food and nutrition course so that she can work as a Dietitian She is so much confused Plz help her out |

| Answer: It would be better for her to go for further studies in Food and Nutrition as the career prospects here are brighter than the field of Zoology. Employment opportunities would be open to her in catering department of star hotels and restaurants and research labs of food manufacturers. Moreover she could find openings in the mass media where top priority is given to disseminating vital information on healthy living. She also can opt for research career mainly in universities, public or private sector research institutes, food product manufacturing companies and hospitals.
Teaching the science of nutrition of dietetics in collages and universities is also a good option available to Nutritionists and dietitians. Besides all these she can also work as private consultant or private practitioner. She can do this course from IGNOU, since you have said that she is more interested in pursuing studies through distance education.
