Subject: Eligibility to join Clinical Psychology in Correspondence
Date: 11-May-2009

Question: I am a B.Sc graduate form the Bangalore University (1981 batch) having 15 years of work experience managing a small business. I would like to take up Clinical Psychology in correspondence as a post grad degree. Kindly advice.

Answer: Postgraduate courses in psychology or clinical psychology are offered only to students who have graduated in psychology. If you have not studied psychology during graduation, you are not eligible to go for higher study in these disciplines. Those who wish to become a clinical psychologist should graduate in psychology and then opt for clinical psychology as a specialisation in the Master’s course.

If Psychology was a subject in your graduation then you can do masters through IGNOU or Annamalai Univeristy which offer these courses through distance education program.

All the best
