There are graduate level, postgraduate level, diploma and certification courses available to pursue in travel and tourism industry. Some of these courses are Masters in Tourism administration (MTA), Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management (PGDTM), Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism (PGDT), and Diploma in Destination Management etc.

For courses at undergraduate level one must have passed 10+2 examination. A graduate in any discipline can pursue post-graduate degree in tourism and travel. For admissions into these course candidates need to clear the entrance test, group discussions and interviews which are conducted by the Directorate and Department of Tourism. Candidate proficient in any foreign language is generally preferred. Duration of these courses vary from one year to two years depending on the kind of course one prefers. Besides there are many short-term Certificate courses which are of less than a year's duration. The minimum eligibility for Certificate courses is 10+2 pass.
