Deck Cadets

Age: Min. 17 years, Max. 25 years on date of commencement of the course

Education:
i. Pursuing Xii- Aggregate - 70% in X
ii. XII Passed - Aggregate - 65% & PCM - 65%
iii. Graduates - B.Sc in Physics, Maths, Chemistry or Electronics with Physics as an individual subject in any 1 of the years with an aggregate of 60% & above in the final year.

English: 60% in English language either in 10th or 12th Standard.
Medical: Physically fit as per ILO standards.
Eyesight: 6/6, Normal Colour Vision

Trainee Marine Engineers

Age: Less than 28 years on commencement of course.

Education: B.E. (Mechanical Engineering approved by AICTE) with minimum 60% aggregate.
English: 60% in English language either in 10th or 12th Standard.
Medical: Physically fit as per ILO standards.
Eyesight: 6/12, Normal Colour vision.

Selection Procedure

• An Online or written test will be conducted for the above posts.
• Short listed candidates will be called for personal interviews.
• Candidates clearing the personal interview will be guided to appear for the IMU CET.
• Successful candidates will be nominated to undergo pre-sea training course at a maritime training institute. Duration - 1 year for Deck Cadets and 8 months for Trainee Marine Engineers.
• Candidates appearing for final exams can also apply.
