Subject: Choice of subjects for IAS exam?

Question: Dear Sir/Madam

I've done my B.Tech in Petroleum Engg. from ISM-dhanbad.Right now,i am working with a multinational oil and gas company.

I want to prepare for IAS exams, but I'm confused about the subjects that i should choose.I've good background in Maths, so that would be a choice. But for the other paper, i want to take any art subject.

Can you please guide me about this.

 
Answer: There are a number of choices as far as subjects in Humanities is concerned and a plethora of subjects are offered in the Civil Services as optional. You could choose from Sociology, Anthropology, History, Geography, Psychology,Political Science and so many more.

You need to find out by your past experiences in school, which subject interests you most. Opt for that subject accordingly. What you need to remember is the fact that you have to be prepared to study the Master's level for any of the subject you choose. People generally opt for any of these subjects to score marks but again it differs from individual to individual choices.
