Area Sales Manager - FMCG

Roles and Responsibilities

To understand the key deliverables of the area allocated, imbibing the organization perspectives, strategy and growth aspects: Working towards surpassing them through a team of Sales Officers and Field Officers / Sales Representatives in the area.

To imbibe and drive the Role Clarity of Sales Officer and FO/SR among his team members – understanding the skill set required in managing the Mini Discovery and Discovery Channels of Distribution

To guide the team of Sales Officers in the preparation / achievement of Sales Target, basis being the area potentiality and brand wise category wise aspects, focusing on the HOW rather than the WHAT and the WAY FORWARD. Playing a key role in sales forecasting in the market place.

To set up and achieve optimal coverage and distribution targets in the area, ensuring coverage as per our norms.

To build a cohesive sales team: assisting in recruitment – implementing structured induction and development; Sales Officer coaching, training and development and through them the front line team; Periodic review of their functioning.

To build a vibrant distribution system: personal involvement in ensuring right DB appointment - handholding & nurturing – periodic review of their market servicing and performance through his team of Sales Officers.

To have quarterly area development blue print in place with complete involvement of the Sales Officers – tangible parameters for optimizing our sales and distribution – with action plan in place for blue print achievement.

To devise area input / scheme planning: area specific and brand specific: for driving distribution, sales and coverage: for achieving earmarked objectives there in.

To inculcate periodic sales analysis and review as a culture in the area – objective wise review with clear cut action plans for correctives at the market place: imbibing the principle that what gets measured gets achieved.

To ensure imbibing our Sales and Distribution Strategy among the entire team and trade partners in his area of operations: Networking with the other departments and personnel in the organization on a need wise basis: playing a pivotal role in achieving the organizational goals and objectives.

Qualification: MBA/PGDM in International Business, Marketing
