Job Overview This is an ideal role for an ambitious search marketing specialist looking to get into the SEO industry.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Work with editorial teams ? ensure editorial staff are following SEO best practice and collaborate on content strategy.
Get the most from our tools ? use our array of marketing and research tools to ensure we have the best data available.
Spread the knowledge ? share the outcomes of your research and monitoring and highlight opportunities to editors and publishers.
Coordinate linkbuilding ? create strategies to ensure our content attracts links organically
Technical SEO ? work with the development teams to ensure our sites follow on-page SEO best practices and utilize the latest technologies and relevant mark-ups. Create well researched and cleverly optimized Meta data.
Test and monitor ? ensure that any technical elements which influence SEO are as they should be, communicating any issues with Operations/ website managers/ developers.
Keyword research ? research keyword search volume and competition, finding opportunities for us to increase search traffic through keyword targeting.
Be commercially minded ? understand the wider business and look for opportunities where you can use your skills and knowledge to help generate additional revenue, prioritizing your time to ensure a positive ROI.
Consult ? offer high quality strategic advice to publishers, editors, development teams and management.
Competitor analysis ? keep an eye on our competition to ensure we lead the field with regards content and technical SEO.
Stay ahead of the field ? ensure you are always aware of any new developments in search and are able to advise others on the potential positives and negatives.
Pioneer and think outside the box ? being a creative thinker you will create and try out new ideas, whilst thinking of ways SEO research can be used in non-traditional methods to benefit the company.
Reporting ? report relevant SEO metrics, research and initiatives across the business.
Job Specific Skills and Attributes
Essential Requirements:
Keyword Research ? Proven experience of keyword research, demonstrable use of SEO to successfully boost traffic to a website or blog.
Technical Aspects ? Broad understanding of technical aspects of the web (HTML, CSS, Javascript, browsers), particularly knowledge of how these elements influence SEO.
Google Analytics ? Strong understanding of web analytics. Experience with Google Analytics
Competent written English ? specifically the ability to create excellent landing page copy
Microsoft Excel ? Strong Microsoft Excel skills a must, with knowledge of other MS products (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint) also important.
Interpersonal skills ? the ability to get on with and earn the respect of a wide variety of people at all
Seniority ? Levels of seniority within the company; in addition to clients, partners and suppliers.

Preferred Requirements: -
Strong communication skills, especially the ability to demystify the more complex elements of SEO.
