Staff Engineer - Analog Mixed-Signal Design

We are currently looking to add a Staff / Principal Engineer to our Mixed-Signal Linear Business Unit (MSLD). The individual we seek will join our product development team composed of highly talented engineers responsible for designing Analog and Mixed Signal devices for customers in the industrial, aerospace, automotive business segments. As a Principle Engineer, you will play a key role in the design of mixed-signal System on Chip products with embedded cores. You will work closely with other team members in Analog Design, Digital Design, Systems, Applications and Production. You will be responsible for the design, block level and top-level verification and validation of analog circuits in an ASIC environment. You will be required to work on high performance Analog IPs such as low offset amplifiers, comparators, resonators, regulators, charge pumps, power management and high voltage CMOS designs. You will also participate in architecture definition. Target ICs built in CMOS, HVCMOS and Bi-CMOS technologies. The selected candidate will plan, organize, execute, and thoroughly document their work.

Job Requirements

This position requires the following knowledge and experience.

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant design engineering experience. MS degree is strongly preferred.
  • Experience building true mixed-signal ICs with Analog Front Ends for different types of sensor along data-converters, DSP blocks, microprocessors, embedded firmware and back-end drivers required.
  • Experience in system level simulation techniques and verification in a Cadence-based design flow (or equivalent tool) required.
  • Ability to lead chip developments, executing from specification to GDS working with design, layout and verification engineers.
  • Experience with Verilog AMS modeling and Experience running top-level Mixed Verification using Verilog AMS models required. SystemVerilog would be a plus.
  • Experience building ICs with different voltage domains, taking full advantage of process for current/speed/size optimization.
  • Good understanding of CMOS device operation and characteristics.
  • Understanding of SAR, delta-sigma converters trade-offs, anti-aliasing circuitry types.
  • Understanding of failure modes associated with automotive standard preferred, familiarity with ISO-26262 automotive safety standard - generation of DFMEA and FMEDA.
  • Experience with UNIX shell scripting or Perl scripting.
  • Proven ability to debug and optimize circuits in the lab using standard lab equipment with experience and understanding of product characterization.
  • Solid prior knowledge and proficiency using Lab Bench equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, power meters, etc.
  • Ability to work cohesively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced small team environment.
  • Self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skills.
