Pesticides - Zonal Manager - East ( DGM /GM)

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for sales, collections and profits at a Zonal/regional level. Prepares budgets and sales plan in collaboration with the Business Head. Guides the team and monitors the sales, collections, stock liquidation. Responsible for designing and implementing schemes for promoting sales and conducts product demonstration for old and new products.


  • Develop a sales forecast, sales plan and budgets for the region, in partnership with the leadership
  • Responsible for achieving the profit and sales targets for the region
  • Responsible for preparing budgets for the region in partnership with the leadership
  • Ensures achievement of monthly sales and collection targets for top 5 products in the region
  • Responsible for planning, forecasting and maintaining optimum level of inventory in the region
  • Monitor the sales returns and bad debts within the region
  • Plan and ensure availability of products in co-ordination with Supply Chain

Development & Promotion

  • Develop a short-and long-term marketing plans within the earmarked marketing budgets
  • Establishes the product pricing in partnership with the Sales leadership
  • Build, expand and motivate & manage the dealer channel that promotes JU products
  • Ensure development and promotion schemes are designed and implemented for promoting sales
  • Ensure Sales team conducts regular training, product demonstrations for dealers / farmers
  • Monitors competition by gathering competitor information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions;

Region Development & Leadership

  • Defines targets for each sales team member in the region
  • Track and review sales performance through monthly and quarterly reviews with the team
  • Ensure to sales teams are well-trained and equipped to be productive
  • Monitors the sales organization’s compliance with required standards and policies
  • Build, motivate and guide the team to drive and grow the business within the region
  • Develop and generate regional sales MIS

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bsc / Msc -Agriculture / Botany /Chemistry. MBA in Agribusiness Management / Marketing will be an added advantage.
  • 12 - 15 years of experience of working in agrochemical or pesticide industry in East region.
  • Candidate should have atleast 5 + yrs of experience as a Business Head for East region.
  • Should have strong product and market knowledge.

  • Native of Kolkata / East or North East with fluency in local knowledge is mandatory.
