Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance, test or user manuals for paper, multimedia or web-based publications. Contributes to the timely design, production and delivery/completion of product documentation and document sets.
As a member of the technical writing division, you will design, create and deliver whole product documentation sets and/or related courseware. Edit, organize and direct the work activities of other technical writers and staff. Plan the format, arrange the layout of publications and edit work for conformance to publication standards and specifications.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. Senior Technical Editor Writer

Role is responsible for copy editing technical manuals authored by the documentation team to ensure compliance with the Oracle Style Guide. The editor is responsible for copy-editing documents in source formats (MS Word, Adobe Frame Maker, Adobe RoboHelp) and in PDF. The person in this role will check documents for grammatical and punctuation errors and provide suggestions for writing cogent and coherent technical content. Experience in using industry-standard style guides and excellent verbal and written communication are an absolute necessity.

The person in this role will also have to step in to create simple/medium/complex Technical Documents, User Manuals, Help Files, web content and Learning material when the need arises. Other tasks include explaining complex information in a clear and concise manner work with Engineering staff and SMEs to ensure accuracy of product descriptions and aligning with documentation releases and other deliverables.

A keen eye for detail with very strong grammar and English language proficiency is mandatory. Evidence of demonstrated improvements to documentation in a similar role in a previous organization is a must. Experience in web development and working in Fin-tech companies will be a bonus.

Primary Skills:

  • Copy editing role in an IT organization with over 5 years experience as an Editor.
  • Demonstrated ability to study and apply industry-standard and company-mandated style guide.
  • Thorough knowledge of rules of grammar and punctuation, and English language proficiency
  • Ability to collate and present data of edits performed on documents and to suggest improvements to writers
  • Experience as an author documenting technical manuals will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge on MS Office, Adobe FrameMaker (Structured and Unstructured), Adobe RoboHelp
  • Working knowledge on XMLs, HTMLs, Wikis (Confluence) and JIRA
  • Familiarity and hands-on on agile methodologies
  • Good knowledge about Software Technical Writing concepts and tools
  • Good Knowledge of Web Design and User interface development preferred. Should have the ability to define and improve wireframes, visual designs and user flows.


  • BA/MA in English Literature/Journalism or Engineering Degree with strong English language skills
  • At least 5+ years of experience in Technical Writing for IT/Banking /Other domains as an editor and writer.
